🥩 A Perfect Evening at Dean’s Steakhouse & Seafood

Downtown Indy’s JW Marriott welcomes a top-tier new addition

Last night, Ashley and I were invited to the opening night of Dean’s Steakhouse & Seafood, located inside the JW Marriott at 10 West Maryland Street. As guests of the house for Naptown Daily, we didn’t quite know what to expect from a first-night dinner—but what we got was an absolutely top-notch experience from start to finish.

🌟 Service That Sets the Tone

Our server, Cassandra, was phenomenal—attentive, friendly, and totally on top of her game. She answered every question we had about the menu (and we had a few).

Ashley’s gluten-free, and I’ve got a shellfish allergy, so we always pay attention to how restaurants handle those details. Dean’s staff didn’t miss a beat. They were knowledgeable, careful, and genuinely accommodating, which made the whole night that much more relaxing.

The hospitality here really shines—it felt personal and confident without being over the top.

🍞 Starters, Drinks, and That Wedge

The night started with fresh bread and butter—soft, flavorful, and hard to stop eating. (Sadly, no gluten-free bread yet, but the staff made sure Ashley had other options.)

For drinks, I went with a classic Old Fashioned, perfectly balanced and bourbon-forward. Ashley ordered the Island Spritz, a bright and refreshing mix of Aperol, house gin, pineapple, guava, lemon, and bubbles—it quickly became one of her new favorites.

We split the Steakhouse Wedge Salad, which came loaded with thick-cut bacon, tomato, cucumber, pickled onion, gorgonzola, egg, and buttermilk dressing. It was crisp, cold, and perfectly seasoned—everything you want from a steakhouse wedge.

🥩 The Main Event

For dinner, Ashley went all-in on the Repeal-Style Filet, an 8-oz steak topped with king crab, asparagus, and truffle béarnaise. It looked incredible, and by the look on her face after the first bite, it lived up to it.

I went classic with the Dean’s 8-oz Filet—no toppings, just a perfectly seared steak, cooked to medium-rare perfection, with that buttery tenderness that lets you know they care about quality cuts and kitchen precision.

Every bite felt dialed-in and deliberate—rich, balanced, and satisfying.
